A Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) is a licensed healthcare professional with extensive training. Dietitians are required to hold a master’s degree in nutrition or a related field, complete a supervised internship of 1,200+ hours, pass a national exam, and maintain certification through continuing education to stay current with the latest research and practices. In Texas, RDs are licensed to work with medical conditions and provide evidence-based nutrition care.
In contrast, the title “nutritionist” is not regulated. This means anyone can use the title regardless of education, training, or experience.
-
At this time, we offer virtual appointments from Tuesday to Thursday between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
-
Amezola Nutrition does not provide specialized eating disorder treatment or manage diagnosed eating disorders that require a higher level of care, such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, or avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID).
We do work with adults experiencing disordered eating behaviors and concerns related to their relationship with food. This may include chronic dieting, cycles of restriction and overeating, emotional or stress-related eating, rigid food rules, food guilt, or body image distress.
When appropriate, we will provide referrals to qualified eating disorder specialists or multidisciplinary care teams to ensure clients receive the level of support that best meets their clinical needs.
-
Amezola Nutrition specializes in women’s health, but we work with clients of all genders. We provide personalized nutrition guidance for adults, supporting a variety of goals including overall wellness, digestive health, hormone health, and sustainable lifestyle changes.
-
Amezola Nutrition works exclusively with adults (18+ years old). At this time, we do not offer nutrition services for children or adolescents.
-
At the moment we do not offer in-person appointments. We are a 100% virtual practice.
Our virtual appointments are available and conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform called Practice Better.
-
Initial appointments typically last 75 minutes, and follow-up appointments are usually 55 minutes, depending on your needs.
-
Your first session is dedicated to getting to know you and building a strong foundation for your nutrition plan. The provider will take a deep dive into your:
Medical history – past and current conditions, lab results, and health concerns
Medications and supplements – what you’re taking and how it may impact nutrition
Nutrition habits – current eating patterns, preferences, and challenges
Lifestyle factors – activity level, sleep, stress, and routines
Health goals – short-term and long-term objectives
This comprehensive assessment allows us to create a personalized, realistic plan that is tailored to your needs and informs all follow-up sessions, ensuring your plan is effective, sustainable, and aligned with your goals.
-
To get the most out of your first session, we recommend having the following ready:
Recent lab results or medical procedure records
A list of current medications and supplements
Any other relevant health information
All documents and information can be uploaded in advance through the Practice Better client portal, whether your session is virtual or in-person. Your provider and you will review these together during the session to ensure a thorough understanding and create a personalized plan.
-
Since the first session is primarily focused on getting to know you, clients need more than one session to see meaningful results. Progress takes time, and the total number of sessions is individualized based on your goals and needs.
Sessions are usually scheduled every 2–3 weeks, and your provider will work with you to create a schedule that fits your goals and lifestyle.
*Cost may vary depending on your location, age, and insurance plan.
